How to choose a right water meter and solution for your application?

If your meter can be installed horizontally with register dial facing upwards, please choose AS, MJ Series.
If you can only install the meter vertically with water flowing upwards, please choose V, VM or PD Series.
If you can only install the meter vertically with water flowing downwards, please choose VM or PD Series.
If you install the meter in the ceiling with register dial facing downwards, please choose VM or PD Series.

For irrigation system, the engineer tends to use smaller piping to create powerful flow for the sprinkler. Therefore, you have to choose the water meter based on normal flow rate or Maximum Continuous Flow Rate, not the piping size. As a rule of thumb, if having a ¾” or ½” piping with the irrigation system, you should choose 1” water meter or bigger, and 1.5” water meter or bigger for 1” piping. Remove water meter before winterization.

There are two remote reading solutions from DAE Controls.

  1. Water meter with pulse output like DAE AS200U-75P + Electronic Pulse Counter DAE CO-10 ($36 only) or DAE CO-10 KIT , an inexpensive remote solution.
  2. DAE Cloud Metering System. Please refer to the link Cloud Metering for Water. DAE CC2030 Gateway will collect the water consumption data from DAE AMR (Auto Meter Reading Module with RS485 communication for 16 water meters with Pulse Output) or DAE AMR130 (Auto Meter Reading Module with RS485 communication for 1 water meter with Pulse Output) and send them to the cloud (DAE server) through Ethernet. With PC or cell phone or tablet, the building owners or property managers will therefore be able to get access to real time data as well as the monthly water consumption and billing reports to their tenants. If there is abnormal water usage (ex. Broken piping), an email alert will be sent to your cell phone automatically.

DAE Cloud Metering System is designed in a way that you plug in the wires as per the simple picture like the following and ready to go.
